Terms of service

Last updated: September 11, 2026

These terms apply to your use of tanso-works.com and to any order you place with us. By placing an order, you agree to them.

Who we are

Tanso Works is a small made-to-order shop based in Bakersfield, California. You can reach us at support@tanso-works.com.

Orders

Placing an order is an offer to buy, which we accept when we confirm it by email. We may decline or cancel an order, with a full refund, if we are unable to fulfill it or if something appears to be an error.

We currently sell and ship within the United States only.

Pricing

Prices are in US dollars and may change at any time. If a product is listed at an obviously incorrect price, we may cancel the order and refund you in full rather than fulfill it at that price.

Personalized details

Your display is produced from the information you submit, so a few things are worth being explicit about.

We produce exactly what you submit. Spelling, dates, and finish times are reproduced as entered, so please check them carefully before you order.

Some fields have character limits, which exist because there is a lower bound on how small the lettering can be produced while still reading cleanly. If your race name does not fit, shorten it to something you are happy seeing on the finished piece, or email us and we will help you find a version that works.

By submitting details, you confirm you have the right to use the names and information you provide, and that they are for your own personal use or a gift. We may decline to produce content that is offensive or that we believe infringes someone else's rights, and we will refund you in full if we do.

Route modeling

We model your course from publicly available route and elevation data. The result is an accurate representation of your race, not a survey-grade reproduction, and small differences between the modeled route and the exact path you ran are expected.

For most races the race name is all we need. For less common events we may email you to ask for a route file or a link, and production begins once we have it.

The product

Each display is made individually, so slight variation between pieces is normal and is part of how a made-to-order item comes out.

The front is open, with no glass or acrylic, so medals hang directly on the piece. Medals are not included. Wall mounting uses two keyhole slots on the back, and you supply your own screws or nails.

Shipping, cancellations, and refunds

These are covered in our Shipping Policy and Refund Policy, which form part of these terms.

Our content

The text, images, and designs on this site belong to Tanso Works. Please do not reproduce them commercially without permission.

Liability

We provide the site and our products as they are. To the extent the law allows, our liability for any order is limited to what you paid for it. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be waived.

Changes

We may update these terms. The version in effect when you place your order is the one that applies to it.
